The Game funding 6-year-old's funeral after tragic shooting

The Game is giving $10,000 to the family of a 6-year-old girl who was shot and killed outside her family's L.A. home this weekend in order to help out with funeral costs ... TMZ has learned.

The story is heartbreaking -- 6-year-old Tiana Ricks was shot and killed when two men approached her family's home in Moreno Valley and opened fire, striking Tiana and her father.

As she lay dying, Tiana reportedly turned to her father and asked, "Are you okay, Daddy?"

The Game read about the tragedy and tweeted, "This very sad story hit me in a place nothing ever has ... Tiana did not know she was shot & kept asking was her father okay."

So Game decided he wanted to help -- tracking down Tiana's family and pledging $10k to cover funeral costs.

Tiana was shot in the back as her father tried to carry her away from the gunfire. Tyrell Ricks Jr. fell to the ground after the bullet passed through Tiana’s body and hit him, said their cousin, Whittney Allen Jackson, who was talking with them in the driveway when the gunfire broke out.

“She asked her dad, 'Are you OK, Daddy?' ” Jackson said.

No one initially knew the girl had even been wounded. Tiana stopped talking, started to gasp and her face turned ashen. Her grandfather, Tyrell Ricks Sr., picked her up and took her inside the garage, where a woman who lives next door performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

The girl and her father were taken to the hospital. She died just after midnight. Ricks Jr. was released from the hospital Monday.

This OP like your other recently locked OP is about the same local gun crime story, albeit a tragic one, that is not SOP compliant.

eta: unlocked per Skinner's exception to the SOP.
