The reason we even have a 'postponement' request is because Parliament voted NO

and that NO vote rocked the world of those that probably had this strike ready to go and still have time to enjoy the Labor Day weekend......

We wouldn't have heard this entire speech without Parliament voting NO and ENOUGH Members of Congress who didn't want to think of themselves as potted plants and were willing to sign letters to be called back into session

I'm cynical enough to think that they might be setting the 'diplomacy and compliance bar' too high....personally, if it takes a week to move a household across America, how long should it take to pack them, CHEMICAL WEAPONS - up and get them out of a country torn apart daily by a Civil War?

Longer than a week....or it really is not about these weapons at all imo

that's the urgency we've seen from those that WANT to strike.

And frankly, the more strident Kerry was getting the more pissed off you think he is because he's missing some time on Nantucket.

Yes, This has made me that cynical.

Now, suddenly, we need "more time" to "explore" diplomatic solutions. I'm all for diplomacy, but the way events have unfolded strongly suggests that diplomacy would have been put aside if war resolutions had passed.

The turning point in this was the UK voting no. The rush was on, hopefully quickly enough that there wasn't time for people to be paying attention and voice their opposition. I think that took everyone by surprise. Everything since has been figuring out how to proceed when not even the UK was on board.
