AT&T delivers phone books to people who opt-out of them

they make money littering a doorstep with a product that the consumer didn't want.

you and your community pay to recycle this product, AT&T makes the money from delivering it.

Unwanted deliveries should stop and unwanted junk mail and phone books should have recycling costs surcharged back to the companies that deliver them.

But this year is the 2nd time I've opted out. I used the phone # the first time and the opt-out link this year.

I opted out of a local newspaper some time ago yet continued to get deliveries sporadically over the course of several months. Don't know why it seems to have kicked in now but it's been a while since I received any.

It may only be a case of a delivery person not paying attention to the addresses.

When they were all we had, it was a big chunk of change.

It used to be very profitable because every business would pay a little bit to get included. These days it's much less profitable, but it's one of those businesses that sort of keeps going under it's own inertia.

i keep opting out of it and the local free paper (which isn't really that local), both are still delivered and the paper is delivered several times per week.
