(12,606 posts)We do have a duty to the world? Really?
Is that duty to let the corporations bleed out our jobs overseas and then tell us that they can't find qualified Americans to do the work?
Is that duty to watch our electeds turn a blind eye to main street while they fellate Wall Street, the NSA or the MIC?
Is that duty to watch industry insiders get top jobs in the present administration for god knows what reasoning?
Is that duty to go broke wile CEOs make a killing while flipping us all off?
And we are expected to do what exactly: give up another round of sons and daughters to the sausage machine in order to enhance empire?

(12,606 posts)Did you even bother to read my post before you so slavishly agreed to give up another round of America soldiers?
Hey, don't sweat it. I'm sure their suffering will be duly noted by those that call themselves Patriots.

(12,606 posts)Why don't you explain that rather shallow and baseless comment in detail.
Be specific. Cite examples.
Seeing how the American people have been in a state of war for over a decade, have watched their soldier children come home emotionally damaged, physically damaged, or both not to mention coming home in a box, have watched the national debt skyrocket, have watched US influence plummet, have seen their wages stagnate...if they're lucky enough to have a full time job, have watched their taxes go up, have watched their property values plummet....if they were lucky enough not to be foreclosed upon...while watching as Wall Street CEOs reap the benefit of criminal activity, have watched as their student loans come due while not being able to find work except for that as a barista, watch as their future in college slips away because they won't be able to afford a student loan in the first place now, have watched as practically every institution wants to outsource the remainders of the workforce, have watched as our civil liberties erode, have watched as whistle blowers are treated like criminals while the criminals they uncover walk free, have watched as it has been made clear that our elected officials do not trust us and are spying on us at an alarming and undemocratic rate, have watched how the only people that seem to matter are those in the MIC or with political power or money to buy political power... and you have the unmitigated gall to say that "Americans are too precious of human beings to be subject to doing anything that is not for themselves?"

He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur
Article
This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land
Along with our moral authority and duty to enforce treaties.
I understand, you want them to do for you and only for you. The isolationism and selfishness that comes out when the world needs us truly is sickening.
You are baaaaaaaaack!

That's truly an unfathomable position, yet you seem so adamant about it.
