This story has been going on for six or eight weeks. Requests were reportedly made to the District Attorney's office and nothing was done about it??

<snip>
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Supporters of Colorado Springs State Sen. John Morse will file a criminal complaint with the Colorado Springs District Attorney over forged signatures they said they found on recall petitions.

The Democratic Senator faces a September recall election after he supported controversial gun control legislation.

Spokeswoman Christy Le Lait said they will present information to the DA questioning the legitimacy of at least 3,500 signatures.

"There's forgery, there's perjury on the part of the circulators, there are a lot of issues," Le Lait said.

I agree there is something fishy with both the Giron and the Morse recall, and collusion with the Liberterian and the Republican Party is a major part of it in preventing mail ballots from going through - it would have stood to show that both would have survived their recall if mail ballots were allowed.

...in the El Paso County Democratic Party. They had 50 affidavits saying that their names on the ballot were forged. They said they did not sign the petition? And the Judge did nothing about it.

The group A Whole Lot of People for John Morse will file a criminal complaint with 4th Judicial District Attorney Dan May on Monday accusing those who gathered signatures to recall Sen. Morse of forgery and perjury.

Last week a Denver judge upheld the petition calling for a recall of Morse and an election date of Sept. 10 was set.

Christy Le Lait, campaign manager for A Whole Lot of People for John Morse said the group is demanding an investigation by the district attorney's office based on her group's study of part of the petition which she claimed revealed 2,149 faulty signatures including a signature from a woman who died two-years ago. The point, she said, is not to block the recall election.

"The point is that people forged people's names," Le Lait said. "That should be addressed regardless of the recall election that's going to happen, is this how we want to conduct recalls?"

One such name, Twila Peach, actually died two years ago. Her husband Ken says Twila was known by her middle name Sue, and he says she always signed her name Twila Sue.

"It upsets me that somebody would try to use her name for political gain," he said.

Another name is signed Allen Davidson, when the actual homeowner at the listed address named Alan Davidson.
"The least they could do is spell my name right," Davidson said. "That's sheer stupidity right there."

LeLait believes there more forgeries, enough to invalidate the recall.

There are at least a few threads right here on DU where folk are positively jubilant that two democratic senators lost and were replaced by republicans ... and all of free republic are ecstatic ... if this were true, then there would be a problem with the posters expressing joy at democratic losses

This is so disgusting. Voter suppression and fraud

(my snarky sarcasm in my first reply is related to my absolute horror that there are members on this site that actually are overjoyed at the idea of two gun loving republicans replacing two liberal appearing democrats)
