Rachel Maddow just devoted the first 20 min of her show to yesterday's recall election in Colorado (the victory of the NRA on national news all day) and added info about the insane new law Missouri has just passed to nullify all federal gun control laws. Outstanding job as usual.

And the Dems are supposed to be the reality-based community...

(2,012 posts)They were just on MSNBCs Lawrence O'Donnell's Last Word and were great. We believe with them that this was a small win for the NRA gun people with all their money, and that they represent many more sensible Coloradans than voted them out.

(421 posts)but did they happen to mention that the pro recall forces were outspent by a margin of 6-1 by the anti recall forces.
And the huge majority of ads were run by the anti recall camp.
No ads were run for the pro camp.

(12,072 posts)Bloomberg gave almost as much money, by himself, as the NRA did. The recall elections were not decided by money, but by the voters. They just weren't buying the gun control pitch.
