Why the $4000 GM bonuses is not as great a deal as the public thinks.

It amounts to $1.92 per hour of work up to 2080 hours. It is not applied to any of the other benefits that are based on wage scale such as life insurance, pension, etc.

The wages are taxed at a higher rate and the federal government is able to use the money until the employee files their tax return to claim it back.

CEO's and other officers should have their bonuses capped at no more than the total dividends paid out annually times 2080 hours.
