the number keeps going up and not down and it's been 2 and half days since this happened.

There are hundreds of people that are unaccounted for right now.
Hopefully, they're just incommunicado because of downed phone lines and from being blocked due to the destroyed roads, and due to the general chaos of flash-flooding. I hope they're OK.

a friend of mine was frantic for two days, not hearing from her son in Boulder. Turns out he's fine, just suffering from being 20 years old and not thinking to check in. He now knows he's got a lecture coming.
