(53,339 posts)It is believed that Alexis had rented an AR-15, but returned it before Monday's shooting, the officials said. Investigators have recovered three weapons from the scene, including a shotgun that Alexis is believed to have brought into the compound. The other two weapons -- handguns -- the sources say, may have been taken from guards.

(2,061 posts)So, we're blaming the gun and not the shooter, it would have been cool if it was a mini 14????
Reports today say an AR15 wasn't used but who cares about the gun? Why was an unstable person able to even own a gun? In most states a conviction like he had or any other mental health issues would have meant that he should have been unable to own a gun. Is Texas that different from the rest of the USA?
I can't understand people who think anyone should be able to own a gun?? If you prove like this guy did that you are unable to fit in with the rest of society, why was he permitted to own a gun?
