(aided and abetted by Scarborough and his "panel" for his "harsh" words to the GOP during Obama's address to the nation after the DC shooting.
I fail to see what the problem was/is???
The shipyard shooting is a tragedy. And of course the president was going to speak about it.
But does anyone else agree that he should not have used his tv time to speak out against the GOP obstructionists as well?

(45,319 posts)that Obama is right and their Party is wrong. It's partisan politics, the opposition is always going to rake you over the coals when you score a hit on them.
You are intentionally watching a Republican's talk show. Do not forget that.

I guess conservatives have a problem with multi-tasking. They can't do it so they have no comprehension of what it is.

(297 posts)I watched the Morning Joe crew feign outrage over the President's 'failure' to cancel his economic
speech in light of the tragedy at the Navy Yard.
I wasn't impressed.
The shooting was a tragedy. The president has already addressed the need for gun control that the Republicans and NRA have resisted and successfully opposed. The proposed Republican threats of government shut down, defunding of healthcare, cuts to social programs that feed children & keep the poorest of the poor from the brink, would all be tragic on an even larger scale than the shooting.

(25,242 posts)This isn't about the 'failure' of the President to cancel his economic speech - because the networks basically cancelled out his message anyway.
They didn't want the President to get his message across in the first place. I don't believe Scar and his cronies want this economic message out and it is just convenient on their part to again portray the President in a bad light and use this shooting tragedy to do that.

(24,412 posts)If they don't have something legitimate to gripe about, then they just MSU. Seriously, it would be nice if they would expend half the energy they use having a faux outrage over something *awful* that President Obama has supposedly done- like call out Republicans for being obstructionists and not caring about anybody but their corporate backers- over things like invading a country on false pretenses, torturing prisoners, Republican efforts to ensure that sweatshop operators can exploit their workers, etc. Oh, and the Republican obstructionism over gun background checks that Republicans filibustered in the Senate.

I was watching. Joey Scar was reslly wringing his hands. Thee and a bhalf more years! What will we do??
When the President spoke, the situation was not over. Everyone was reporting in the middle of the shooting. It was not yet over. So the President was not wrong to speak about the upcoming crisis with the budget and debt limit.
