Why Republicans are like Nascar and Democrats are like Formula 1:

Nascar:

You drive around and around an oval, turning only in one direction. It's simple to understand and simple to design cars for. Republicans are simple, and they like things that don't change. Republicans like Nascar.

Formula 1:

Formula 1 tracks are complex in design and require all sorts of turns, in both directions. They're complicated, with frequent changes in direction. Formula 1 cars have to be versatile and so are more difficult to design. Democrats are versatile, and like changes in direction. Formula 1 fans tend to be Democrats.

Their only purpose is to use up gasoline and with an obsessive need to flaunt their consumerism.

But as someone who watches a lot of racing series, your analogy is a bit off...

I'm not thinking this is a great analogy. And I say that as a pretty hard-core F1 fan.

The head kingpin in F1 is Bernie Ecclestone. He is about as shady of character as they come. He would make the France family on their worst days look like a bunch of alter boys.

I think that makes me left-libertarian-progressive-something because I want to go very fast in a straight line.

to watch traffic all I have to do is drive home every freaking night. Lack of public transportation brought to you by people that like to watch traffic.
