http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_24123861/number-people-unaccounted-colorado-flooding-dropsThe number, according to this article, is 201. Still an alarming number of people unaccounted for, but a lot of people have been rescued. Six people are confirmed dead. I'm amazed the number isn't higher given all the flooding.

(51,666 posts)social media, and automated telephone alert systems have all contributed to the much lower death toll. I suspect most of those 201 are just fine and don't know that they are among the "unaccounted for".

(26,355 posts)There's a lot of backcountry that's been cut off from the rest of the world. Roads washed out, phone lines washed out, power washed out, cell signals gone, so we may have a bunch of people who are fine, but cut off.

Several years ago, Middle Tennessee went through a 1000 year flood. At first, 100's were missing but later were rescued so I was hoping the same would be the case here.
