So I found this stupid Limbaugh quote on Media Matters:
And it just frustrates me that such a mainstream media figure could poison American political thought like this. We live in a nation of science deniers, and it reflects in the fact that Congresscritters like Jim Inhofe, Dana Rohrabacher, Todd Akin, and Trent Franks have publicly displayed their ignorance of science whether on climate change or women's reproduction - some of them even serve on SCIENCE related committees!
Yes I know the literacy test is unconstitutional and obsolete. But with so much ignorance being perpetuated by our intellectually bankrupt media and cowardly public education system, if I had my way I'd make voters demonstrate knowledge of the way our political system works and basic science as well. How? Similar to how people applying for driver licenses take a written test, there'd be a written test for voters with multi choice questions about the Constitution, political institutions like Congress, and science issues that are politicized such as "true or false, humans contribute to climate change" or "true or false, a fetus is a baby" or "which amendment provides separation of church and state?". I know my idea will make people here angry. I know it's dumb. But I'm just frustrated with living in a nation of ignorant buffoons and having to suffer from the fact they're allowed to vote.
