There was something ghoulish about the rally that House Republicans held today in the Rayburn Room after they voted to defund health care reform. The party atmosphere was so boisterous, the cheers and laughter so loud, that it was easy to forget everyone in the room had just voted to keep tens of millions of people from getting health insurance.

By keeping spending at its current levels through mid-December, they had also voted to continue the sequester, which is preventing millions of people from getting public housing subsidies, Head Start seats, and unemployment benefits. The sequester is also taking a serious toll on scientific research and investment in infrastructure, not to mention its infuriating drag on employment and the economic recovery. How about another round of applause?

This shouldn’t come as a surprise, of course, from a House that had voted the previous day to cut food stamps for 3.8 million low-income people, including many very young and very old recipients. But at least they didn’t have a party to celebrate that vote.

Today, though, everyone was in a great mood.

“When we acted, it wasn’t just a group of Republicans, but it was a bipartisan vote,” said Kevin McCarthy, the Majority Whip. (O.K., fine. Two Democrats voted for it, and 188 voted against.) “Let me state that again because I want to make sure you write it correctly. [Huge laughter.] It was a bipartisan vote because we’re Americans first! [Cheers, applause.]”

I was in McCarthy's office this summer talking to his aids. He has a big picture of Lincoln on one wall and on the opposite wall an even bigger picture of Reagan.

His aide said a favorite of the Majority Whip is the third pic that shows President Obama after a defeat of some piece of legislation. You can see Obama is not happy. I took that one, not very good.

Picture of Obama in what he calls a defeat for him. Six angry white men surround the President. The one on the left of the picture, yet the right of Obama is scolding him. Surprise, surprise that it is his favorite!

Looks like he believes that Ronnie is#1. The true savior~

They are so content and the masses who are in need are out of sight.

That movie sure is an advocate of universal health care...and shows the inequality that is existing today...

Republicans don't care about those 30 million people because they'll mostly vote Dem. Republicans want those people to die.

Why do they want war? Because more non-wealthy people are in the military and they want those people to die.

Why do they want to cut food stamp funding and also keep the minimum wage unlivable? Because the cost of living has gone down? No, it's because Republicans want those people to die.

Why do they want the proliferation of guns? Because of the general demographics of gun violence victims Republicans want those people to die.

They're sadistic bastards who don't give a damn about the lives of their fellow Americans. If Republicans can't own them for slave wages, they want them to die.

This should be used as an add against every republican running in 2014. It pretty much says it all when so called "adults" cheer and laugh because they just voted to take food from hungry children in the U.S.A. I mean how sick can they get.

I honestly can't think of a more correct word to describe the deliberate and shameless manner by which these GOP fucks have attacked this country and its people, especially the most vulnerable. They must be like injured zebras to these predators, mouthwatering and impossible to resist going after.

I never thought the GOP would let a bunch of total wackos take their party away from them. Just when I think the GOP cannot withstand to remain so completely and totally fuckedup-backwardsass-wrong on every fucking thing that counts in this country - they go and show me I don't know shit about being a truly stupid moron.

I bow to their amazing idiocy, it leaves me baffled and believing logic and reason are the illusion and full blown batshit lunacy is the reality and norm of the GOP.

The New GOP - same horrible aftertaste, even more toxicity and now with lithium!
