A homeless Times Square performer, who was arrested for going on an anti-Semitic tirade in New York while dressed as the Sesame Street character Elmo, has admitted trying to extort $2 million from the Girl Scouts of America, prosecutors said this week in a Manhattan court.
Dan Sandler, 50, who goes by the name Adam Sandler, pleaded guilty in Manhattan Supreme Court to attempted grand lacerny.
He was also charged with harassing and stalking a Girl Scouts employee with dozens of threatening and bizarre emails and photos.
Prosecutors say he wrote several rambling emails, including one that said: I want a telecommute job from home of life at 150K, or a two million dollar cash settlement. As you know, the newspapers like to cover my evil Elmo scenario.

Our buddy in the OP is more like Ron Miller in Robocop, the former city councilman who took the mayor hostage and demanded a recount and a car with reclining leather seats that goes really fast and gets really shitty gas mileage.

Actually, I've had that before--in my brand-new '70 E-type Jag roadster. Had my fun with that, then went to vans and T-Birds, and finally to Ford Escorts. Now looking for something new, maybe a Ford Focus or similar. Do they have leather seats? I haven't begun my research yet.

(53,339 posts)I did three cross-country trips of 2-3 months each in the Escort, up to 9,500 miles for one trip. The car was great for driving around town, but a little more comfort would have been nice for those extended drives.
