POPCORN HERE: Aide: John McCain ‘f*cking hates’ Ted Cruz

Aide: John McCain ‘f*cking hates’ Ted Cruz

By David Edwards
Monday, September 23, 2013 11:23 EDT

...................

“He fucking hates Cruz,” one McCain aide told the magazine. “He’s just offended by his style.”

At the time, McCain had publicly referred to Cruz and other Republicans as “wacko birds.”

“If standing for liberty and standing for the Constitution makes you a wacko bird then I am a very, very proud wacko bird,” Cruz later told CBS News.

Writing Politico Stories Based on Their Headlines: John McCain Makes Microwavable Popcorn

By Juli Weiner3:10 PM, June 12 2012

Given the above, what do you think the substance—in the most generous sense of the word—is of this actual Politico story? Because guessing the content is undoubtedly more fun than reading it, we wrote our prediction below.

There’s a kernel of truth to the rumors about John McCain and popcorn.

McCain’s suspicion of microwaves has been the stuff of Beltway lore for ages, but now the situation has really gotten salty.

A visitor to McCain’s Washington, D.C., office confirms exclusively to Politico that the senior Arizona senator stood watching his microwave for approximately 45 seconds before asking an unidentified aide why the Orville Redenbacher (Spicy Nacho) popcorn “wasn’t making any dang noise.” McCain added, “Bam! Bam! Bam!”, an apparent impression of a bag of microwavable popcorn.

According to two sources, the aide then told McCain the microwave was broken, and he’d have to call in a mechanic. After McCain walked away, however, the aide pressed the “popcorn” button on the microwave and then pressed “start”—the latter a step that the senator reportedly skipped.

Following the microwaving process, the aide then brought the bag of popcorn to the 2008 presidential candidate. “Hehhhh?” McCain asked, according to six witnesses. “How’d ya fix it? You get someone in here in . . . What’s it been? . . . An hour?”

It had been exactly three minutes.

The aide didn’t miss a beat—or pop, as it were. “Yes sir, an hour. The microwave engineer is on call today. Very busy with tech stuff: you know, Internet stuff, Facebook.com, iPad.”

Let me tell you a little secret about McCain.......he is in this for himself. He isn't "principled" he isn't a "maverick" his opinions and strategies changes with the wind. He is a political opportunist of the highest order and does whatever it takes to keep his job.

But I think he's worse. He is all the bad things about politicians taken to the extreme. Unfortunately the media had a weird love affair with him and convinced a good chunk of the populace that he was the anti-politician and was a "maverick" (barf).

When John McCain sold his soul around the time of the 2000 election, a few small pieces of it crumbled off during the extraction process. These crumbs very occasionally find their way to his brain, causing him to say something vaguely principled.

Unfortunately, some of us (like me) who, in spite of our better instincts, in the hope of finding some vague hint of sanity or ethics in the Republican party, grasp at these crumbs in the hope that the old McCain will return, the one who was a bastard and an opportunist, but still able to at least engage Democrats; the McCain who was at the very least not an apologist for the type of neo-Nazi that currently runs his party. Alas, we grasp in vain, as these crumbles are soon reduced to mere atoms, and our hopes are shown to be as ephemeral as "compassionate conservatism".

He talks about religion, liberty and the constitution but who is he kidding. Apparently, many of his constituents in Texas but not his colleagues in the Senate on both sides of the aisle. He wants to destroy government because he sees himself leading a different kind of government - one the brooks no dissent. He is a very scary guy. Forget the 1%, he wants no percent except himself, IMHO.
