The GOP Is So Desroyed That They Are Going To Win...what's the truth?

All we hear is of the fatal infighting of the GOP that will destroy it....taking heads, articles, blogs. In the next breath, the same media points to the gerrymandering that has created safe seats for them and tell us they probably will retake the Senate. In other words, the disease is not affecting the body! What difference does it make if they are universally hated but can own the Congress! No wonder they can hold the nation hostage. My frustration is that the opinion manipulators don't seem to explain/connect these two seemingly very conflicting points!!!! What is the truth here?

why this gerrymandering scheme is not before the courts in every state that it has effected. We do not have a "representative" government under the current circumstances.
Of the dozens of emails I receive weekly from progressive organizations, I've yet to see or read one that addresses gerrymandering or it costly effects.

Gerrymandering doesn't really affect the senate, only the House. Of course, with a spread between Wyoming and California that is so large, that's a problem in and of itself.
And both Texas and Florida are within a decade of making some significant changes. It's how Grayson got back into office. It gets harder and harder to create safe districts when the number of old white guys is dwindling.

by gerrymandering---as much, but it does have a tremendous effect on state and local elections and how they are handled and called....that's where the criminal actions begin.

I just realized that BUT now brings up bigger question---if they are self destroying, then why all this talk that they will pick up seats and/or take the Senate?

We have more contested races than they do. When you're in the majority, that tends to be the case. If you own 10 house in the tornadoes path, and I own one, you're more likely to get hit than I am.

It's the problem with the "throw the bumbs out" mentality. It might as well be "throw out the ruling party".

That said, the reason the Cruz brigade is such a threat to the GOP is because they are running ads in vunerable GOP held senate seats. That's the TP/Heritage foundation running ads against Rovian GOP senators. Basically a circular firing squad.

Like a huge tidal wave that we can just watch come in and roll over us.
