Why shouldn't the American people have health coverage?

Every other industrialized country in the world offers health coverage to its citizens. Why are they better than Americans?

It is not good for our soul when we refuse to look after our sick and needy. It is evil and greedy to treat sick people as if they are a commodity on some imaginary market. The sicker they are, the more money they can make.

Obamacare is making an effort to cover all these citizens that might get sick and need to go to a doctor. It may fail? If it doesn't work, we should not throw 30-50 million people off the side of the road. We are Americans. We should look after our brothers and sisters.

There will probably need to be several changes made to Obamacare before it works for all of America. In the end, we may need to take the insurance companies out of the healthcare business for it to work properly. Healthcare should not be market oriented. Doctors and nurses should be paid well but no one should be allowed to make billions of dollars off illness and misfortune.

That is the moral argument for healthcare reform. We should never surrender that argument.
