Not just Fox, but on the media in general for not reporting facts, for leaving relevant facts out, for telling only part of the whole story etc.
Fox we all know is little but a Republican mouthpiece and we here know that if we want good solid stories we need to go elsewhere. The problem is that those news sources are quite flawed also.
We have come to trust MSNBC because they are abut the closest thing to a liberal outlet. Yet they give us Chuck Todd who has essentially said his job is not to ask questions. The other big disappointment that gets bigger everyday is NPR. They were once the bastion of solid news. It seems that since they began to have "underwriting" (sponsors) that news and comment has taken a major hit.
Republicans are not doing this all on their own. They need a poorly informed electorate to drink in their lies. So they need help from their friends in the media. And as we know the networks have to sell toothpaste and hair restorers and gold.

(58,648 posts)Back in the day, news was something the networks were basically forced to put on, and tended to be net losses to the bottom line. There were brief news breaks and mainly about an hour a day of news, half hour local and an hour national/international. Now it's 24/7 and they need to invent shit to fill the time/feed the beast.
Now it's infotainment and it's making them money hand over fist. I hear al Jazeera is putting out real news. Funny we'd have to rely on a 'muslim' network for real news. Funny sad, that is. I wonder how long they can keep it up?

(39 posts)In Sept of 2011 MSNBC was airing a promo featuring Todd where he stated the following:
"My job is to bring up issues that Americans care about.
It's my responsibility to ask the tough questions. No matter who's leading the country, they need to be held accountable.
I have unique access to the president, his advisers, the candidates and members of Congress.
I'd better use that access for a greater good. Use it for people who can't get through the White House gates. For people who can't be heard."
I guess he no longer believes that.
