No kidding, this is the honest to god truth. Tuesday we got a new Direct-TV receiver-recorder-box-thingee. Its supposed to be better than the old one; it is certainly smaller, and it has a much different (and less pleasing ergonomically) remote.
I've been tuned into C-Span much of the day, starting with Washington Journal first thing this morning and then watching the Senate in action, as they say. Well, as you all know by now the votes were cast and the Republicans were defeated on the senior side of the Capital but this afternoon the disgruntled losers are blovating en-mass.
Ted Cruz was at the mike when Sparky, the God of all things electronic, stepped in to save my day. The brand new receiver-recorder-box-thingee went Bing! and the screen went black and that was the end of that. No more Ted Cruz. No smoke, no fire, no nothing, simply the lord of the electron blunting the pain of this mere mortal.
