I wish Stephen King (the writer) would run for political office.

Course he wouldn't be from my state, anyway, but we need progressives like him.

but of course that would take time away from his writing...

However, he could write speeches and essays about the direction in which the right-wing has
taken/is taking the country. These could be every bit as horrific as his novels.

But his stories are not interesting to me

Have you watched Under the Dome? I tried reading it last year. Neither the book nor the movie left me with anything to thnk about.

As a Mainer, I am content to have him stick to his strengths (and hopefully to continue to use those strengths for Good).

But I bet he couldn't go into politics because of his openness about his drug usage back in the day.

ETA: I should say that I used to be a Constant Reader. Loved his earlier stuff and I love his political stances as well.
