Video Highlights Famous Republicans Who Have Smoked Pot

From:
AlterNet.org
September 27, 2013

The Marijuana Policy Project (MPP), an advocacy group that seeks to legalize marijuana,
released a new "yearbook" style video highlighting a series of high-profile Republicans who have smoked or otherwise used pot.

The Republican Party historically takes an outspoken "war on drugs" stance against the use of marijuana.
Many of the conservative folks featured in the video started out as advocates of marijuana legalization.
Most of them have since adopted a prohibitionist attitude against the herb's use, even for medical purposes.

At the end of the video, words appear across the screen to point out the fact that 100 million "successful Americans" have used marijuana, and even more think it should be legal.

"It is a shame that being arrested for using marijuana can lead to life-altering consequences,
but fortunately that was not the case for these highly successful individuals."

This video shows just how hypocritical the GOP's "war on drugs" attitude toward the legalization of marijuana truly is.
