My rep votes to shut down the U.S. government, turns around and sends out e-mail asking for $$$.

You can't make this shit up. My Democratic (yeah right) congressman was the one who voted to shutdown the U.S. government and delay Obamacare. He also had his mother e-mail me (and everyone else, I assume) asking for campaign funds for the upcoming filing deadline.

Are you fucking serious here?

And in its story on the vote, CNN misidentified your Rep. as being from Iowa.

Matheson posted about his vote on Facebook:

Rep. Jim Matheson

The legislation considered by the House today to prevent a government shutdown included provisions to delay Obamacare for one year and to repeal the Obamacare medical device tax that will drive jobs overseas. I voted for these provisions because I support these policies. However, the most important issue at hand is avoiding a government shutdown, and I am disappointed that the leadership of the House of Representatives chose to add other issues to a funding bill that will not be accepted by the Senate and could very well lead to a government shutdown in less than three days. Our country deserves better from its political leadership than what it is getting today in the House of Representatives.

either voting for him or a registered republican. The only thing you can give the republican credit for is that he's honest about what party he's in.

Yours is a phony. I hate to be deceived....

Let him know that your vote for him meant nothing and he may well want to be thinking about that before he asks you for money or your vote again. Then start meeting with fellow Dems and see if there is someone to run against him.
