You cheered GWB and his band of merry men. Remember them? The ones that took us into two wars, one that was completely unrelated to 9/11. You let them throw a credit card on the table and said go for it! The card had a zero amount of funds on it. You hid that under the table. You lied to us.

George Walker Bush and all the rest of the GOP nearly brought America to it's knees. Our economy was on the brink of disaster from your policies. You guys, yes I am speaking to you, Bush is gone yet you remain and are continuing to destroy America. Nothing new here, you refused to pay for the wars under Bush and you are refusing to pay for a budget you approved now. It's the job of congress to set the budget and then pay its bills when due, yet once again you prove to be dead beat dads! You refuse to meet your obligations. You refuse to do your job! You refuse to pay for what you have spent. You are beneath contempt!

What the hell took you so long to get mad? Oh yeah, I got it. We have twice elected a black President.

9. When Republicans lost in 2008 they knew the jig was up...

They had just gotten caught lying us into a war and crashed the economy with their deregulation frenzy.

They had only ONE thing left in their trick bag. Their undeserved reputation as cheapskates.

All they did was talk about the National Debt and the Deficit and pointed at Obama and claimed the "Black Guy" (not the term they used) increased WELFARE for other "black people" (not the term they used) and THAT is what crashed the economy.

They then ran a guy against him who was anti-welfare figuring that their prior lie was accepted.

They then looked at the polls telling them the #1 thing the American People WANT is "JOBS" so they claim EVERYTHING Obama does "kills jobs" and everything they do "creates jobs". It's all MARKETING to these ASSHOLES. If the #1 thing America wanted was a pony they would claim the Affordable Care Act kills ponies.

We need to stop playing their game by their rules because it doesn't MATTER if we "Win", they will claim we lost.

We need to put THEM on the spot and FORCE them to loudly and publicly refuse to support a full employment plan.

11. All of this crap started during Reagan. He used to get out there and openly lie...

The media would then fact check him and a ten minute press conference would turn into a forty minute correction, clarification, exposure of the lie fest the nation had just been subjected to. The media got so many people contacting them telling them to give the old man a break that they decided to use a new tactic and put on a Democrat to rebut the crap. This turned into a "he said, he said" fest which then turned into the smash mouth politics that got great ratings for the last 20 years. But people are fickle. They get tired of that stuff and the Republicans don't help because they are like a broken record. Ya see, they're too stupid to think on their feet so they are coached with the same talking points from the Party. This creates the absurdity of a small time state house representative sounding exactly like a big time Washington Senator as if someone pressed the same bleached white flour and used the same asshole as a cookie cutter.

It doesn't help that the media was infiltrated long ago by the right wing and consolidated and reduced to infotainment to take away it's power. There was a time when getting exposed by the media was a big deal, especially when it came to the things that matter but Republicans lied us into a war and there's Chuck Todd acting like it was the fault of Democrats who should have done a better job selling their message.

In a sane world every one of the people in the media who played along with the Republicans would have been out of a job and never been allowed to step before a camera again. Hell, this didn't even happen for the "experts" on the financial networks who told their viewers to buy on stuff that crashed. There has been ZERO accountability on media figures. O'Reilly even got an abortion doctor shot down in a CHURCH and he's still on the air.

Thanks for the synopsis for the devolution of "news" in America, Spitfire.. and that rundown with raygun. I didn't start watching again until 2000 after taking a 30ish year break. Was I ever shocked!(being from the Cronkite/Reasoner/Murrow school of what news should be).

And, then I stopped watching in 2002. Thank Goodness for 'puters!
