Who already wants to see if she can get my son into the medical exchange and save our costs.
We're meeting with her this week to get it done.

(12,081 posts)someone to explain it to me. I have private insurance so I keep hearing conflicting information on whether I can shop through the exchanges or not. Also, my husband has Medicare. Very confusing stuff.

(36,749 posts)your employer has health insurance that meets the criteria of the ACA. It gets sticky on the subsidy for exchange plans if you do. If you do not have employer-based health insurance then you should be just fine to shop around on the exchange. Your husband is just fine on Medicare. Medicare is going to stay right where it is for the foreseeable future.

(7,760 posts)get me signed up. Private insurance for me alone is $2000 a month but under the ACA it will be $112 a month for the basic plan. I was stunned.
