What was worse, Limbaugh's slut shaming or Savage's apologetics for bullying?

On the day (Monday) of the school shooting near Cleveland, Michael Savage went off on a pro-bullying rant and claimed that it was either bullied kids get tougher or that society becomes more feminized:

"I was bullied my entire life. So what? It made me the man I am…All it did was make me decide I wanted to succeed and prove that I was better than them...

"The entire history of the human race is that of pushing the other guy around to get the best out of him. What the heck do you think the Marine drill instructor does to wimps? They bully them! How are you ever going to produce a man in the military unless you bully them and shame them and call them names?

"Now you have the feminization of the entire nation pushed by these psychopaths. Anyway but meanwhile there’s a dead child in Ohio and three wounded shot because some idiot told this kid he was bullied, and because you’re bullied you’re the victim, and because you’re the victim you should shoot the other kid."

I found this to be exploitative of the death of teenagers and highly offensive. I've tried getting more publicity around this by e-mailing the It Gets Better Project and posting a commentary on this on feministing.com. But the Pig Limbaugh upstaged the Savage Weiner this time.

These remarks were two forms of misogyny: Limbaugh attacking a woman for her sexuality, and Savage promoting a hyper-masculine approach to bullying. I wish there was another "autism is a fraud" moment for Savage over his bullying remarks.

5. His drill instructor analogy

doesn't work for several reasons.

First of all, a drill instructor is training people for combat which is a very different environment than any civilian one.

Second of all, what kind of patriot are you if you need to harrass your fellow American to the point they totally lose it?
