Whoa! I just learned that DU3 has "Star Members" with special rights - Who knew?

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by SidDithers (a host of the General Discussion forum).

I assume these "Star Member" donate more to DU coffers than the commoners?
Or is that an unfair and totally inaccurate assumption to make?

This inquiring mind would like to know, as possible.

I love DU .. been here since 2002, under various handles. And yet, this is also some
really serious shit ... because I'm convinced we are in a dawning age of relatively
graceful equanimity, because our only other choice is to become a caricature of a
Jim Jones die-in, and totally self-destruct.

and the difference between a $5 donor star and a $500 donor star were indistinguishable... I always enjoyed our donation drives and the camaraderie they fostered.

But, subscriptions appear to be the future, so

... But, realize that many with current stars, are still under that status from the old system.

Star members at DU3 are posters who have purchased a membership, either through a one-time payment or through a monthly payment. Donor status from DU2 is carried forward, so you're a star member for a year from the date of your last DU2 donation.

Now, I'm going to lock the thread for being off topic in GD. Please repost in H&M if you want to continue the discussion.

Thanks
Sid
