George Will Mocks 'Depressing' GOP Response To Rush Limbaugh

Conservative columnist George Will on Sunday tore into top Republicans for their tepid response to Rush Limbaugh's smear of Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke, declaring that the GOP is "afraid" of the radio host.

"It would've been nice if they had shared that with the larger public, the Republican leaders," Will said on ABC's This Week. "Instead, Mr. Boehner comes out and says, Rush's language was inappropriate. Using a salad fork for your entree, that's inappropriate. Not this stuff. I mean, and Rick Santorum says well, what he says was absurd, but an entertainer is allowed to be absurd. No. It is the responsibility of conservatives to police the right in its excesses, just as the liberals unfailingly fail to police the excesses in their own side. And it was depressing, because what it indicates is that the Republican leaders are afraid of Rush Limbaugh. They want to bomb Iran, but they're afraid of Rush Limbaugh."

a typical Republican asshole. The false equivalency is to be expected, and can be easily rebutted. Also, "excesses" doesn't necessarily mean the same, the difference between over the top and vile. Will would be hard pressed to draw any parallels. Limbaugh is in a disgusting blowhard in a class by himself.

Still, it goes to show how pathetic the Republicans are in their reaction to Limbaugh's vile attacks.

I rarely (if ever) agree with George Will, but in this case he couldn't be more on the money.

Rebubbalickins ARE apparently scared to death of overtly offending the Cockroach with a Microphone. Hey, lose a couple dozen DittoBagger votes and they might lose the next election. Lose the election, and some of them might have to actually do something vaguely resembling WORK after November.

Considering that most congresscritters have absolutely NO marketable skills, I can see why they'd kiss any cheek that presents itself for a few votes.

3. Yes, that vile human being is just an entertainer

An entertainer that every Republican candidate thought was necessary to court to get his blessing for their run at the presidency. You know, like, uh, well, I'm sure someone in the entertainment industry has to pass on every Democratic candidate.

Will's sinecure is safe, so he can say that Republicans are afraid of that vile human being, which they are. Let's see if any Republicans come out on the right side and demonstrate by deeds that they aren't afraid of that vile human being.

WHAT fuckin' excesses?

Please. Name some, people. Help me here.

Oh, I guess Ed said something unattractive about Ann Coulter or something, but anyone who shoot off her mouth about shooting liberals and whatnot has pretty much put herself into the game in a way that an ordinary, non fame-seeking citizen testifying before Congress has not. It's like the difference between a prizefight and a mugging.

Still, that comment about "excesses" is lame compared to this: "They want to bomb Iran, but they're afraid of Rush Limbaugh."

For guys who supposedly hate communism, political correctness, and the Soviet Union, it's just amazing how effective their de facto political commisars are in enforcing strict adherence to the conservative dialectic.
