*if by sluts you mean average women who use birth control for WHATEVER reason (which would be the business of a woman and her doctor), and would like health insurance companies to cover it exactly like mens sexual health services are covered.
Regardless of what Limbaugh said in his backhanded apology, or what the righwing blogosphere is saying, or what the flunky Dittoheads argue, Sandra Flukes testimony wasnt at all bizarre, she never mentioned her sex life, she WAS talking about a friend with cancer and its all on tape or you can read it. http://abcnews.go.com/images/Politics/statement-Congress-letterhead-2nd%20hearing.pdf
............. Dittoheads who either want to defend Limbaughs lies or their own (by using arguments like those above), OR who want to argue that birth control shouldnt be covered by health insurance (becauuusssee the EXPENSE! to every other insurance subscriber that would be like paying women to have sex! OHNOES!!!) okay, lets talk about some things that health insurance DOES cover like health problems or issues associated with other peoples lifestyle choices / personal responsibilities:
1) Overweight people and all of their medical conditions and meds (why dont they lose some weight?)
2)Drinkers, drug users, or smokers (hello, Rush Limbaugh?)
3) All of the olds who want their Medicare-paid Little Rascals (why cant they use a walker or a wheelchair and save us ALL some money?)
4) Men with erectile dysfunction (its over, accept it)
5) Or people like Bristol Palin who dont use birth control, have SEX, get pregnant, and make the rest of us absorb more insurance costs through our premiums for [a] her pregnancy, the birth, and [c] a new persons healthcare for many years to come (Why couldnt she have used BIRTH CONTROL? Because by the way, and using the righwingnutospheres logic if she would have used birth control it would have been so much cheaper for all of the other health insurance subscribers its like everyone on her parents health insurance plan PAID HER TO HAVE SEX and then rewarded her for getting knocked up! Right, Rush?).

(8,522 posts)I was in High School when the pill first came on the market. My significant other's mother told us to get it on while we were young. Like she never could without screwing up here collegiate future. My mother was sitting next to her. It had a big effect on our extra curricular activities. No regrets.
I have noticed in my 65 years, that most Conservative men are impotent in some way. They have the money and we have the love. There is always a bright side. The key to good sex is love! Who, in God's name, could love Rush Limbaugh or Carl Rove, or ............ Hide the Sheep.
The Doctor.
(17,266 posts)That was an unusual situation. I just tell my son to MAKE SURE he uses a condom EVERY time. Given that he's very aware of the consequences of being reckless, I'm fairly confident he'll get through college.
As for the conservative libido, I believe you're closer to the mark than you might think. I think that one of the problems conservatives have (not all, of course) is that they have a greater tendency for homo/bisexuality and pedo/paraphilias. Much of their hatred comes from the fear that society will reject them if their 'secret' gets out. It can grow into full-blown self-loathing too. I don't believe Rush went to the Dominican Republic to have sex with women. He can do as much of that here and in Las Vegas as he wants.
So the sheep remark may not be as far off as we might think.

(27,677 posts)The members of "The People's Front of Judea" are sitting in the amphitheater:
REG: Furthermore, it is the birthright of every man--
STAN: Or woman.
REG: Why don't you shut up about women, Stan. You're putting us off.
STAN: Women have a perfect right to play a part in our movement, Reg.
FRANCIS: Why are you always on about women, Stan?
STAN: I want to be one.
REG: What?
STAN: I want to be a woman. From now on, I want you all to call me 'Loretta'.
REG: What?!
LORETTA: It's my right as a man.
JUDITH: Well, why do you want to be Loretta, Stan?
LORETTA: I want to have babies.
REG: You want to have babies?!
LORETTA: It's every man's right to have babies if he wants them.
REG: But... you can't have babies.
LORETTA: Don't you oppress me.
REG: I'm not oppressing you, Stan. You haven't got a womb! -- Where's the fetus going to gestate?! You going to keep it in a box?!
LORETTA: (crying)
JUDITH: Here! I-- I've got an idea. Suppose you agree that he can't actually have babies, not having a womb, which is nobody's fault, not even the Romans', but that he can have the right to have babies.
FRANCIS: Good idea, Judith. We shall fight the oppressors for your right to have babies, brother. Sister. Sorry.
REG: What's the point?
FRANCIS: What?
REG: What's the point of fighting for his right to have babies when he can't have babies?!
FRANCIS: It is symbolic of our struggle against oppression.
REG: Symbolic of his struggle against reality.

(4,056 posts)Don't need contraceptives--the estrogen fled my bod like rats leaving a sinking ship a few years ago! But unlike Repigs, who don't care about anything unless it affects them directly, I will fight for my young sistas' rights to be as slutty as I now am (cuz I'm still pretty hawt so why nawt?) and not have to worry about the physical consequences.
Too bad the social consequences of female so-called sluttiness haven't changed in millennia. Even with contraceptives, women owning their sexuality and being confident is a HUGE threat to the patriarchal fundies, (as well as the corporations, who rely on women's low self-esteem so we keep buying useless shit to make ourselves feel prettier) so the stigma of shame is being kept alive, and the double-standard is firmly in place. I hate to think that women have to reach a certain age to finally acquire the confidence to enjoy their sexuality! So, c'mon, Young Thangs! You're beautiful, and deserve to feel sexually satisfied without guilt. Ignore those idiots--Sluts Unite!
