Newt scolds David Gregory: Why is Rush the great national crisis of this week’?

Oh, gee, Newt. I don't know. You fucking stumped me. Oh wait, maybe it's because the 'pokes attached a health care restriction to a transportation bill? And refused to allow any women on the committee? It's possible that might have had something to do with it.

I am so fucking tired of Newt's attack the moderator stratagem. You can use that to 'answer' any question you don't want to address. Frankly, it's getting a little old, Newt.

Gregory read through Limbaugh’s apology and asked Gingrich how much “damage” the entire controversy has done. Gingrich’s answer was practically dripping with disdain.

“I am astonished at the desperation of the elite media to avoid rising gas prices, to avoid the president’s apology to religious fanatics in Afghanistan, to avoid a trillion-dollar deficit, to avoid the longest period of unemployment since the Great Depression, and to suddenly decide that Rush Limbaugh is the great national crisis of this week.”

Did you see on the Daily Show where they busted Steve Doocy for reading on air an RNC directive for right-wing pundits? Gas prices was one of the talking points.

is trying to remain relevant. He doesn't want the outrage to be focused on Limbaugh, but on this:

"the president’s apology to religious fanatics in Afghanistan"

Newt, you tool!

To paraphrase: You want to bomb Iran, but you're afraid of Rush Limbaugh.

David Gregory is a tool of the (R) party.

A rather pathetic one but still an ally.

One thing I miss about my mother is our late night conversations. One or the other would call each other and say "Tomorrow I am going to say something that will piss someone or a number of people off."

We would then discuss strategy on how to say what needed to be said on whatever issue without personally offending someone we might need later.

We were a great team and I miss her wise resource. She died in her 26th year of service in an appointive position to the City Council of the City of Burbank.

She was wiser than Newt... and so am I.

for having the education to ask the French President a question .... in French?

David Gregory understands his paycheck comes from GE. But they are no more an arm of the Republicans as they are the Democrats.

You might have a point if you said he was a tool of the "Corporate Party"--but that party covers the spectrum...

I don't care what party they claim to support, and you will never convince me of anything different. When they start paying some taxes, I'll think differently. When they stop trying to stifle unions among their workers, I'll think differently.

EDIT: Defense dollars - biggest gripe

Sorry, GE is a model of what you DON'T want to be. But hey, they are a big corporation and some people make big bucks working for them to the detriment of others.

This isn't an "R" v "D" issue, which was the point I took issue with--last time I checked, the Defense Department was being run by a Democrat, and the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces was a Democrat, too.

You don't have to apologize. GE is a corporate entity, that is a self-evident truth. Thing is, they owe no allegiance to any 'party'--they only care about the bottom line and not who is in charge, so long as they continue to do well and enrich themselves. If they can get a good deal for themselves, they'd smile and cheer on anyone.

David Gregory isn't stupid. He knows where his paycheck comes from. But because he's not going to cross that bunch doesn't make him a Republican, not by a long shot. He's doing just fine for himself as things stand right now.

Newt, if you recall was the guy who said "Women can't serve in combat because they'll get *infections* in the foxhole!"

Lord only knows what he meant when he used that "foxhole" word....no one asked; they might have been surprised, or perhaps horrified, at his answer.

If they knew a little more about anatomy, the two of them, maybe they wouldn't have gone through so many wives with the decisive swiftness of Grant marching through Richmond.
