(891 posts)and so is my son. Last I heard, Booker's lead was only 10 points. I don't think I really believe that.
We're ready for next month, too. I heard parts of the Christie/Buono debate on the radio tonight. She's a tough debater!

(12,545 posts)If Lonegan wins all the normal people will be leaving NJ in droves. Say no to a fascist takeover, make Cory Booker NJ's United States Senator.

(7,960 posts)I wish that the Booker campaign took this more seriously. Maybe there are GOTV efforts going on under my radar screen but as far as I know it sounds like they think they have it in the bag.
Hopefully the moderate Republicans (we have them in Jersey) will stay home.

(129,096 posts)But the main issue is that Christie purposely set this special election for this odd day.
IMHO, the biggest city in the state (Newark) will fill much of the voter gap given Booker is mayor there. Also, Booker has flooded the airwaves here in Philly with his ads (for the South Jersey audience in Camden, Princeton, Trenton, AC) and I don't recall ever seeing any Lonegan ads. Since Booker is a blue dog, he can appeal much better to the moderate rethugs than loons like Lonegan.

(31,828 posts)Happened under your radar. We've had three stops (two in the primary) at our 'for now' place. Lots of Lonegan signs in Basking Ridge and Bedminster and Warren but you don't really see them outside of there. I think I've seen one Lonegan sign in Somerville and maybe 10 out in the town of Flemington - everything else is Booker in get this . . . Horse Country.

(7,960 posts)Aside from Asbury, Long Branch, Red Bank and a few other communities it's pretty much GOP central. That being said, hopefully the sane Republicans will just be disgusted with Lonegan and stay home.

(19,429 posts)Turnout seems light compared with most elections. However, this district is heavily Republican, so maybe it is a good sign.

(17,528 posts)the poles close and the results come in. Don't blame him. But maybe Up With Chris may have him on as a guest. I hope so, as I usually like his analysis.
