Trust me, I'm a doctor...

...or a nurse, or something...anyway, somebody handed me a white lab coat....

The Uncle-Fester-esque creature in the yellow tie in back of Cantor is Dr. Scott Desjarlais (R-Screws his patients, TN), who has been sanctioned for having multiple affairs with his patients and who pressured one of his mistresses to have an abortion while espousing typical RW hypocrisy. He also concurred with his wife having two abortions during their rocky marriage (but would block the rights of other women to choose). http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/03/scott-desjarlais-doctors_n_2232421.html

All of the creeps in the picture are enemies of affordable health care and have slashed funding for medical research.

Although from the description, Desjarlais' personality wouldn't account for his sex appeal either; it must be the coat, the tendency to yield to the coat.
Strange, really, when you consider that it's just a PPE item.

PPE refers to protective clothing, helmets, goggles, or other garments or equipment designed to protect the wearer's body from injury, exposure or contamination.

While the purpose of personal protective equipment is to reduce employee exposure to hazards, white lab coats serve the dual purpose of pretentiously announcing authority or success. Which is why it is not uncommon to see self-absorbed gits not bothering to remove their coats before going through the hospital cafeteria line or using the restroom. You don't really wanna know what that coat standing next to you has recently been in contact with.

Wear white coats too. Guess white really is a sign of authority.

The coat is really meaningless without a stethoscope around the neck. Now THAT'S impressive.
