And, THAT, my children is why repubs are against Obamacare. It's unfair! Michelle Obama should have to look for health care like others do! Why do the Obamas get special consideration?
This line of bullshit was advanced by a WI GOP congressman today on Morning Joe. John Heileman tore into the guy: "Then pass a law that says that! You're in Congress, you can pass laws!"
I wish someone had said to the asshole: "Fine. Let's have single payer, universal health care! How about Medicare for Everybody?"
This is the level of discourse coming out of Washington by the RW wackadoo wing...these folks are just amazing...

(13,305 posts)Within the next month people are going to have to do their normally registration for insurance through their employers. In the vast majority of cases absolutely nothing will change. They will have the same process, the same plans at the same prices. I really wonder if this will just push the polls on the subject in a more positive direction. The amount of people who are uninsured and who are opposed to having to get insurance is so slim a segment.
I know logic and what is right in front of their eyes isn't the strong suit of a lot of Americans (especially the ones inclined to be reflexively against the ACA), but still at a certain point, the less dogmatic opposition is going to realize that nothing is changing for a vast swath of Americans, and the ones for whom it is changing it is for the positive.
Nothing is going to change that 25-30% GOP rump. But the rest of that mushy middle who have been persuaded to be against it by GOP talking points and media onslaught.

(63,912 posts)the major thrust behind Obamacare in the first place. Once they find out for themselves that they can get affordable insurance even if they have a pre-existing condition and they can get subsidies if they qualify, Obamacare's popularity will grow.
What is too bad is that the website is such a mess. I really hope they get the glitches out SOON.

This is supposed to be an issue - why?
