is referring to President Obama. The 'progressive' description you find so disdainful is applicable in the current reality of what is acceptable in the United States.

the best word for it. Does anyone know what surveillance capabilities mega-national corporations or other governments have...or how much the world has 'progressed' in terms of surveillance and espionage? I don't know what this President thinks, so I'll have to take your word that he is wrong.

Or those elected officials representing the american people are the reason why 'progressive' could be an adjective to describe this President's outllok. No progressive policies can be enacted in the federal government, regardless of who is President. Actually, no liberal progressive could be elected president, senator, to congress, or many state government offices. It's sad that people think electing one person will change the government isn't it?
