You can't count on Boner to be anywhere near sober after Happy Hour (5 o'clock somewhere). I'm not going to celebrate till after Obama signs this tonight (hopefully).
I still don't trust the self-destructing House repukes.

(27,315 posts)If the Senate votes first, they still need to send it to the House, debate and vote. So, the timing is not that odd.
Of course, if the first vote is tonight, this is weirder.

(12,287 posts)Reid and McConnell worked out this bill to begin with. I'm more afraid that the tp's in the house will attach an amendment to it and send it back to the senate as they leave town.

(879 posts)procedurally. If the Senate goes first, and puts in several more hoops that procedurally must be jumped through. So Boehner will meet with his people, then they will vote on it in the House. After that, the Senate can vote on it. That's the simplest way to do it.
