How difficult is it to get one Party control of our government??

Sometimes there is a Democratic President and a Republican Senate or Republican House and sometimes there might be a Republican President with a Democratic House and a Democratic Senate but it is pretty rare to get control of both Houses and the Presidency. That is why it is so difficult to get a partisan agenda passed, such as huge taxcuts or healthcare or Medicare.

And that is why the Republicans tried to end Obamacare by extortion rather than the regular order or process. Since it may be a long, long time before they control both the House and the Senate and the Presidency, they knew it was as good as written in stone. Even if it is full of glitches and doesn't seem to work, it is on the books and it is not easy to take off.

And then we failed utterly to do anything except bend over backwards for the Republicans. And they proceeded to not vote for a single thing we brought up after making major, major concessions to them.

That is called severely wasted opportunity. And we'll almost certainly never get that again.

When the Chimp had both houses of Congress they just ran roughshod and didn't give a shit what we thought about anything. Remember them making the Dems hold hearings in the basement of the capital and turning the lights out on them? They know how to rule.

"Our" side acted as if they were scared to death to use it. Most likely because they were. Gods forbid they do anything against the owners and for the People.
