Where's the anything?
Do you remember the excitement on the Left? We were finishing signs, making plans on which street corners to setup on, getting pumped up....
Local news from Savannah showed a dozen Women for Frothy Sweatervest (it was called the Susan B Anthony something and many of the women might have been her contemporaries.) There's no excitement, no anema, no umpf.
Also,
Might I suggest that before we fall into a lack of enthusiasm, we be sure to educate and staff a shit ton of volunteers to monitor this election at the local polls. I think the only way this will be close is if they steal it on Election Day.

(4,667 posts)At first I thought there was less magic because my perception was different because I didn't have any emotion or a voting interest in this primary like i did in 2008. But I look at my GOP friends. There is no passion. No excitement. I am not sure they care. Heck, even they were more excited for the Dems race in 2008 than they are now.
There is just no magic for any candidate this time around.
In a way you can't blame them. You can't top Clinton/Obama. That matchup was an all-time great.

(13,778 posts)It's a really long day, 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM on-site and then two hours to drive the machines, etc. back to the Election Office and wait until they're signed in and the tallies read. I'm usually exhausted by the time I get home.
And, it's the first election with Tennessee's new Voter ID law, so I'm sure we'll have some really upset people who'll have to fill out provisional ballots and get to the Election Office by the end of the day Thursday with their ID in order for their vote to be counted.
