Shopping companies that denied me time after time. Luckily, I gave up before I knocked on Humana's door, so I can enroll with them without hating them. But forget it BC/BS Texas; you, with your cutesy ads every football game commercial break. Forget it Aetna... forget it.
(it also helps that Humana had the best plans down here)

Seriosuly, in this day and age if you don't have LOLcats just pack it the fuck up and go home.

Thank you.

(111,329 posts)to insure me all those years out of the fear I'd cost them something. I ran the numbers a couple of years ago and at what BCBS (the only one who'd insure me) was going to charge, I've saved into the six figures by being uninsured so long. I also saved on a lot of aggravation trying to persuade bloodless bean counters that doctors, tests and drugs were necessary for someone with a painful and sometimes fatal disease.
Now I have Medicare and am looking at the same bastards lined up to sell me Medigap insurance or enroll me in one of those bogus HMOs. Since my docs are in multiple "networks," this is just not practical so I'll do without and hope I get cheap diseases.

(14,881 posts)anyway, because your 20% body weight loss (from 110 to 84 in 2 months) night sweats, chronic insomnia (lucky to sleep 6 hours/week), recurring golfball size lump under your armpit, etc, were "all in your head" and it might cost them a dime to run a cbc, discover you were septic and pay for antibiotics. At least that's "all" it was, so my dentist could take one look at me, put me on antibiotics and save my life, versus, say hodgkins...
