Unprecedented unity by EmoProg FireBaggers

Has led to Larry "Toonces" Summers being kept from more mischief, JP Morgan actually paying a fine of some non-trivial sum, the Monsanto Protection Act getting 86ed, a Congressional Democratic revolt against war in Syria, and other substantial wins for the American People.

Keep up the good work!

We're just getting started!

Regards,

First-Way Manny

That means the Democratic Party has done something good. Third-Way Manny's posts, on the other hand, always signal that the Democratic Party has done something that harms the American people. He's usually right in his analysis, of course, but Third-Way Manny is such a downer.

Your artificial bifurcation of Democrats into "true progressives" and 3rd way Republican wannabes notwithstanding, they ALL came together as united front in both the house and senate on a number of issues.

37. Opposition to the limited military strike on Syria had nothing to do with "revolt"
Wed Oct 23, 2013, 12:07 PM

Those in opposition were merely useful idiots that helped make it appear to all the right people that the President meant business.

The threat of military action was what solved the Syrian crisis and resulted in them giving up their chemical weapons.

The JP Morgan fine was a result of Eric Holder, an Obama appointee and Larry Summers was never even being considered. In politics, 'anonymous White House official' usually means bullshit.

But if it makes you feel good to think these "EmoProg Firebaggers," whatever they are, have any kind of meaningful influence or a monopoly on good ideas... that's just fine. Just be sure to vote in 2014 and 2016 for the goddamn candidates we tell you to vote for after the padded room candidates are eliminated in the primaries.

Must be the eleventy-dimensional thing that I keep reading about and don't understand.

I am glad to hear that Toonces wasn't actually being considered. I don't know where I got that notion from.
