Can someone answer this question for me?

Last edited Fri Oct 25, 2013, 10:13 PM - Edit history (1)

Here we have the repukes self destructing on an almost daily basis. A recent poll shows even Seniors, one of the repukes most favorable voting groups, now polling at 65% disapproval for the repuke party. So why in hell is ANYONE connected to Obama or the Democratic Party even mentioning entitlement cuts being on the table? Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, isn't this a prime example?

The VA gubernatorial race is unlikely a bellwether of anything nationally or for Democrats...part of the reason Cooch is bringing in "all-star tea party talent" from elsewhere at such a rapid rate is that he's mostly lost the VAGOP establishment that is quietly hoping he'll lose and take the Tea Party in the Old Dominion down with him. In some cases, it's not so quiet...the latest series of McA ads are "I'm {a prominent VA Republican state official, lawmaker or elected official}, {position held}...and I'm supporting Terry McAuliffe for Governor." Cooch has lost the electorate, his candidacy has descended into madness and he's quickly becoming a laughingstock even among conservatives.

VAGOP can root for him to lose because they control the state legislature solidly so will probably continue to do so and they've survived the majority of the last 20 years under relatively-conservative Democratic governors (McAuliffe isn't really a break from that); they know they'll be fine. Cooch's asswhuping in the degree it's coming is a likely death-knell for the tea party in VA--he was their guy, they changed the rules to get him on the ballot over a stronger candidate in in Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling and when it happens the Tea Party, not the GOP, are going to own that defeat.

And Democrats are only there because of some fluke that will be corrected.

Oh,...and part of OWNING the White House means not giving a DAMN what the public wants.

Government used them to destroy and co-opt the Industrial Unions prior to FDR. You just think they are on your side. Very effective strategy, and hard to dislodge, because they can use the excuse that you are beating up on your own kind.

Nothing new.

Between the Medicare premium and the supplement I'm shelling out more than $300 a month. On top of that there are co-pays and that sneaky co-insurance that add more to that bill. I'm with you, Elwood.

Instead of saying that we should be increasing SS and having it cover more people, some are afraid it might cost them a few dollars more so they are against increasing.

The real problems we face are problems supported on by centrists. They just don't want to share.

And expand Medicare.
And welfare needs an increase and review.
And put more money into affordable housing.
And decrease the military budget.
This is the kind of reforming I want to discuss.

Considering that the middle philosophy of the DCdems is to the right of center, this could very well be the cover they've needed to do 'entitlement reform'.
