I'm tired of advertisers claiming "we buy radio ads, but not on Limbaugh's show"

eff em!

Running an ad at 1155 and then again at 1505 on Hate Radio, is still RUNNING ADS ON HATE RADIO!

Maybe when Clear Channel and local stations begin to lose ALL OF THEIR advertisers...ALL OF THE TIME... they'll get the message.

Presuming that it is true that these peoples ads weren't specifically designated for Rush, it tells us that Rush was having trouble selling advertising time. Either he was selling time at non-premium rates and/or his resellers were desperate to fill time with anything they had. Someone suggested that one could tell alot over the next few weeks based upon how many dropped him. It may have been the little secret for some time that his ratings were way down. This is his advertisers "gettin' while the gettin' is good".

They may not be lying or obfuscating, depending upon when and how the ads are sold and placed. For example, the morning traffic report on most radio shows is not part of the station (though it's labelled that way) and the ads that run during those segments are sold by the traffic provider, not the station.

As I said - complicated. And boring, so I'll stop now.

i was given several options such as the program or different times during the day. what i found out was radio time is very expensive compared to paper advertising.
yup the local stations are going to take a hit and so is clear channel. how big and how long is going to be interesting.
