My few comments to a media survey/poll.

Every couple of months I get this e-mail survey asking about my viewing habits, listing the networks and cable or individual newscasts or personalities. Usually this is a point of departure for testing their advertisers, a bait and switch. This time it was a listing of mostly the business channels that turned into checking familiarity with Energy companies -- never heard of them or just the name or more familiar? And it ended up with one particular one, ONEOK: know how to pronounce it? (they asked that.) Then they played a tiny commercial with the ONE spread like raindrops everywhere, and it turns out it's pronounced ONE OAK.

That's all they wanted, but the final thingy was a word question, "What do you think of energy companies or TV news or the world in general? We're listening." So I said:

Unfavorable impression of energy companies. TV news is too Right Wing with network news being too Soft/entertainment. The world in general needs way less Right Wingnuttiness in it.

I realize (I'm talking DU here, not the survey) that these comments are too flimsy and I use my DU jargon with outsiders!1
