Was I ever so proud of my country as the day of Obamas inauguration. The only other event that comes close was the moon landing. In 2008, Americaa sent a message to the world - WE WALK WHAT WE TALK

He's 76 from Alabama and black. He married my mom who's white and when they got married they didn't go to Alabama to see his family for many years, because of what would have happened. Hell, in Mississippi it was still technically illegal for them to be married. They were married in '75,

He's been a union man his whole life. That night we all cried. All the civil right's marches my parents participated in came to fruition that night.

I'm on board for 4 more years!

My normally conservative Polish Godmother (in her 80's) told me she watched the inauguration. She said when she saw the elderly black women with memories of oppression crying, she broke down and cried also. Some things transcend ideology.

my Dad didn't live to see him elected. He would have been very proud. Although we are white my Dad was a Union steward for 30 years. He loved helping the underdog. He was one of only a few white men who ALWAYS walked the parade on MLKs birthday and went to the services in the black churches.... Boy, he sure loved it! He would come home and just gush about how inspiring it was. He was truly a working mans man!
Good Times!

I like to think that somehow, somewhere he knows about President Obama!

That was such a great night here in San Francisco. The energy was electrifying, I saw people crying and hugging in the streets, we were all just so thrilled and really felt like something momentous had happened. And it had. He's been struggling all the way and he was basically left a big pile of crap to whittle away, and I think he's done a pretty good job with all he's had to work with. I'm on board for another four years. GOBAMA!
