Covered CA looks good to me.

I already have medical coverage, but I decided to take a look at the Covered California site and it looks pretty damn good to me. It's simple to navigate and clearly states how much one pays per month and out of pocket for care. Also, the rates rock for a family of three or more!! Hello, MSM, Obamacare may not not be single payer system I want, but it beats the hell out of what the Republicans want us to all go through.

1. I was VERY impressed after trying to apply for an Anthem plan in May. 42 pages of application!

And turned down in the end.

With ACA, basically four or five pieces of information, and it spits out four plans at each of four levels.

Choose one among these plans and I'm done!

At half the price of my current COBRA Anthem plan.

3. Same here. I checked it out, though I don't need exchange coverage. Simple, quick and clear.

And, aside, I've read reports here that the federal website is up and running for many.

4. My wife & I will get a slightly better plan than we have for less than half our current premium. . .

and it will be with the same carrier we presently have.

She has a pre-existing condition, and I got falsely diagnosed with one years ago (but could not get the insurance company to change my status -- and why should they, they could ratchet up my premiums and I had nowhere else to go!), so between our two "pre-existing conditions" our individual policy went up 15% to 40% each year for the last 15 years.

But now that we can divest ourselves of the "grandfathered" policy we had, we're going to get the same insurance with better benefits for about 46% of the cost.

Yeah. The ACA wasn't what I wanted, and it needs to be changed in many ways, but without it I don't know how we would have made it. So though I'm not happy with the ACA, I'm very pleased with it.

but you can check out of there, you just can't leave.

You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave!

There's gotta be some reference in pop culture where you can check in but you can't check out.
