I was a healthy 35 year old guy until I fell while hiking along the side of a river where people whitewater raft. I fell, had a seizure, dislocated both shoulders, and required a mountain rescue crew to get me out of there. 6 months later I started losing weight, muscle weight, and strength...(fast forward) I ended up in the emergency room and spent 8 days in the hospital getting diagnosed with kidney disease, liver disease, autoimmune disease, and a neuromuscular disease. I was unable to work and was told that I could never work again and might even need dialysis if I didn't respond to a ton of steroids and chemotherapy drugs.
So guess what, I NEED HEALTHCARE NOW, and you could too if you found yourself in my shoes.
It's not that I hear a lot of this here on DU, but in the rest of my online reading and when I meet with family. Get a plan, even if it's a shitty Bronze level plan. You'll be glad if the unthinkable ever happens.
Sorry, I'm ranting on here because it would be rude for me to scream at the people on FB that need to be yelled at. Can't wait till Thanksgiving when we get to share a meal with these morans.
