Arkansas cop tasers woman who refuses to show him her breasts: lawsuit

A cop in Arkansas allegedly tasered a woman after she refused to show him her breasts.

Ashlea Bennett alleges that uniformed Officer Brandon Carter strutted into her place of work on Dec. 13, 2011, and ordered that she give him a sneak peak of her bosom.

When she declined, he reportedly then chased her around the building before zapping her repeatedly with his electroshock gun.

Bennett, who says it was not the first time Carter had asked her the lewd question, is now suing him and the city of Haskell in federal court.

post following the article in the NYD

Kristen Castleberry
I live in the town of Haskell and this is not the first time Officer Carter has been accused of inappropriate conduct. The girl involved may be a bit annoying but she did not deserve this kind of treatment. She is a very young woman and she works at a convenience store, not a "skin bar". This cop is a perv and all the women in town know it. Ashley was NOT at fault, she was attacked.

and in this case there should be witnesses video all kinds of things

not too long ago we had tons of threads of the lady that supposedly was raped while people watched and video taped it. Well despite the accusations it turns out that it was entirely consentual....she just had next day regrets.

I want to see proof when a public accusation is made.

When in actuality it's just the opposite. Women are afraid to come forward with rape accusations.

For two very distinct reasons:

A. They fear retaliation
B. They fear no one will take them seriously.

Which category do you think "it's not true unless there's another eye witness" fits into? Hmmm?

And you do need evidence. ...more so in cases like this that are way outside of the norm. This is just a lawsuit...I wonder what the results of the inveaitgation were? No criminal action was noted in the article. ..this is about money so it needs to be more than she said/he said...

And I doubt very seriously the sincerity of your demands. Rape is most often a personal crime between a rapist and his victim. There are no other witnesses. And to expect rape victims to have another eye witness for a crime that specifically avoids the watchful eyes of others is ludicrous.

that other people have to notice a crime in order for it to actually happen?

Maybe they were in a place where no other people were located.

Whatever the situation, your demand that other eye witnesses be present is either simple minded or intentionally suggested for ulterior motives. What exactly is your point in all of this?

"The Taser was never discharged in a manner that caused injury to anyone," (Mayor) Arey said. "No one was actually Tased."

The officer was kicked off the force last February.
