North Korea publicly executes 80 people

Seoul (AFP) - North Korea publicly executed around 80 people earlier this month, many for watching smuggled South Korean TV shows, a South Korean newspaper reported Monday.

The conservative JoongAng Ilbo cited a single, unidentified source, but at least one North Korean defector group said it had heard rumours that lent credibility to the front-page report.

The source, said to be "familiar" with the North's internal affairs and recently returned from the country, said the executions were carried out in seven cities on November 3.

In the eastern port of Wonsan, the authorities gathered 10,000 people in a sports stadium to watch the execution of eight people by firing squad, the source quoted one eyewitness as saying.

Most were charged with watching illicit South Korean TV dramas, and some with prostitution.

Unless you are the Dear Leader- if you aren't, you walk a fine line between life and death everyday.

His parents still live there and he gets back fairly often. Turns out a lot of North Koreans along the border have access to smuggled cellphones running on South Korean networks ,and this is what's being reported. He also says there are lots of indications the two sides want to eventually reunite like East and West Germay, but we'll see.

Of course, the idiot is trying to show his strength with all this nuttiness. They supposedly see him as a spoiled, immature offspring, and not fit to run their government. However, I'm not sure why they put up with all of it, and the same thing was the case in Syria but the military continues to back up Assad.

If there were ever a case for assassination, poisoning, etc., of a world "leader," I would think this is a prime case. I'm hoping the military finally turns on this P.O.S. and puts the millions of starving people in this country ahead of one sick scumbag.
