Tea Party opposes Upton bill, wants to repeal Obamacare.

It will be interesting to see if the GOP leadership will keep the caucus with them or if some will actually follow the extremist lead.

But it has been clear for a while that the base opposes the Upton Bill. It does fix Obamacare and they want to repeal it. One example among many: http://www.redstate.com/2013/11/13/its-a-trap/

This is reminiscent from a couple of bills that the leadership tried to bring to change ACA while keeping the popular provision of the bill and which were summarily dismissed and never made it to the floor. I wonder if they will be able to keep their guys this time or if they will have many defections.

One link among others.

Because they are able to make political points this way. Helping to fix the ACA would be good for America, but bad for the Republican Party and its donors.

The Media will dutifully ignore this story, as well.

it is fun to see people squirm and try to defend a bill that does nothing really (insurance companies are not interested in reissuing these contracts anyway) from people who understand the bill does nothing.
