Another diner stiffs LGBT server on tip and leaves rude note instead

Server Dayna Morales said a family dining at Gallop Asian Bistro in Bridgewater, New Jersey, deliberately skipped the tip on their $93.55 bill and left her a rude note.

“It says, ‘I’m sorry but I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle and how you live your life,’” Morales said.

Morales, a former Marine who’s frequently waited tables over the past 10 years, said she never told the family she was a lesbian, but they made insulting comments to her right away.

“(I made a) normal introduction, ‘My name is Dayna. I’ll be taking care of you.’ Right away the mom looked at me and said, ‘I thought you were going to say your name was Dan,’” Morales said.

She discovered the note written on the bill after the family had left and sent it to the “Have a Gay Day” Facebook page, where it’s drawn more than 2,000 comments.

Morales said the incident offended her and made her angry.

“I didn’t know how to react to that,” Morales said. “I never thought that would ever happen.”

A server at a Kansas City chain restaurant reported a similar incident last month, when a family thanked him for his “excellent” service but refused to tip him because he’s gay.

“We cannot in good conscience tip you, for your homosexual lifestyle is an affront to GOD,” they wrote in a note left on their table. “Queers do not share in the wealth of GOD, and you will not share in ours. We hope you will see the tip your queer choices made you lose out on, and plan accordingly. It is never too late for GOD’s love, but none shall be spared for queers. May GOD have mercy on you.”

I'm a server at Gallop Asian Bistro in Bridgewater, NJ and THIS is what happened to me today.....

The note says "sorry I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle & the way you live your life"

NEVER in a million years did I think this would happen. Not only was it a family with two kids, but as I introduce myself and tell them my name is Dayna - the mom proceeds to look at me and say "oh I thought you were gonna say your name is Dan. You sure surprised us!"

I am THOROUGHLY offended mad pissed off and hurt that THIS is what her kids will grow up learning and that I served in the Marines to keep ignorant people like them free. Sorry lady but I don't agree with YOUR lifestyle and the way you're raising your kids but you didn't see me throwing that in your face and giving you shitty service. Keep your damn mouth shut and pray we never cross paths again.

What the person is really saying by not leaving a tip, "HI I AM A TOTAL ASSHOLE that normally does not pay my fair share...and since I have no morals or ethics, I will blame YOU for me not leaving a tip!"

BRILLIANT!

...to pull this shit and then post about it in the social media blogosphere without being arrested.

Some restaurants add 18% automatically. I think it should be an automatic 20%. Regardless, I look forward to the idiotfbpage update that brags about rolling groceries out of a store without paying; justified by blaming the cashier's perceived personal 'lifestyle.'

If this turns out to be a money making hoax on the part of the server, I wouldn't want to be in her shoes. The internets can be relentlessly unforgiving about being emotionally duped.

The New Testament makes Jesus' perspective pretty clear. These people are just more examples of Hate Radio Christians claiming to do "Gods Will" without actually comprehending the tenets of the very religion they claim to be supporting. People like these make me glad I'm not religious.

To
Insure
Prompt
Service

so how does that have anything to do with lifestyle.

I have worked as a waiter. the pay and hours suck.
of course as a 16 year old it was great, now I am glad
I do not have to do that.

I always tip 15 percent, this is for "normal" service
20 - 25% if it is excellent service.
if I tip 10% it is because the service sucked that bad, it also
means I am talking to the manager, of course if I tip 20-25%
it also means I am talking to the manager, just a slightly
different conversation.

Stay at home and read your bible instead of funking up society with your bullshit.

They had no problem letting her refill their drinks or feed them dinner, but they had a "problem" with what they thought she did or was like???

Religious people have a tendency to use their religion to avoid their financial responsibilities. I was actually with someone who actually said "I only give God 10%, why should I give someone else 15%"?

I'll have to re-read that part.

I thought it was just a law saying not to steal. Period.

Otherwise, the persons leaving the note are charlatans, not Christians.
