WFTV reported that residents of the New Smyrna Beach community were shocked over the last few days to find hundreds of fliers with the words Our Race Is Our Nation and a symbol of a hooded klansman.
You say this was a recruiting effort; however, your group targeted a predominately black neighborhood, WFTVs Ryan Hughes told KKK leader Robert Jones in a telephone interview.
Well, we dont have no way of judging where were putting the fliers at, Jones explained.

(23,766 posts)Stupid yes, dumb, I don't think so. Just another form of their "mind" terrorism and saying "we made a mistake", is just a ruse. They did exactly what they intended, put the concept of white men in hoods in the mind of a black neighborhood. Then, brush it off as, "we made a mistake." I was raised in the Georgia in the 60s, and the occasional KKK rally became folk legend around that area. The klan didn't need to have weekly rallies. They just wanted to keep the fear of the idea that, they (the klan) are in your neighborhood, in your town, might even be your local politician, policeman, or schoolteacher. As a Black child, I remember my mother saying to me, "remember, the Klan is around here," when she knew I would be arriving home late from school or sports practice.
So, it wasn't a KKK rally in a Florida Black neighborhood but it's the same intimidation. Putting flyers in front yards, provokes a strong internal reaction in most Black folk. These racist bastards were near my home, my children, my family. Yes, in still racist strongholds, it can still elicit deep and historical fears and that's what the klan is trying to accomplish. The klan and racism still lurks in the shadows and we need to shine a light on it all.

Wonder how many klansmen will still be left in 20 years.
